checking internals

i was just wondering is there any way to check if your engine has been rebuilt by removing sump or head possibly as i have found loads of upgrades done to my 15 and would just like to know to see if i could turn the boost up another bit. oh and the cams where would i find a code or name,

Get someone who knows what they are lookin for to look over it and check the pistons with a bore scope,, it's an easy job when ya know what your lookin for but not the easiest thing to explain how to do it properly,,,
