ya dude the Genuine Ganador mirrors, where hard got, there are Replica sets on e-bay for sale but iv seen them fitted before they kind of swoop up as they come out and look absoultly muck in comparison!! you couls easily get them off yahooauctions in japan.

Surprised you werent happy with the brakes, i find mine excellent. Running endless pads though.

i Havent fitted the GtsT's yet, my stock breaks are beyond terrible so i thought for the money these are a nice little upgrade :) would love larger disks up front tho :afro:

this will hopefully be her last weekend like this :D

spent 3 hours today wiring down underneath with a Wirebrush attachment on a Grinder, and gave it a light coat of Etch Primer, gonna give it another coat and while its drying change the Breaks and then a coat or two of Waxoil seal :D might fix up the Ridge front bumper too while im at it i fell like working tomorrow :D

they seem a good 2~3 inches longer than whats on the caliper already...

i should have a update on the clutch situation next week :D

youll need differant brake pipes as the skyline rear callipers has a male fitting on the brake pipe where as the silvia one has a banjo bolt going through it..

i got mine off db-power there hel braided lines done the job nicely..

i got mine secondhand from a guy in England, Iv bought a Few bits off yahoo auctions through Jesse Streeter, i was ordering my flywheel through him also but he is apparently up the wall with orders and he reckons he will have to cut back orders as he has no place to store the stuff, contact juice on here he is in Japan ATM and im sure he would be more than happy to get you stuff and send it onto you ;)

Dont get the drift works ones, they wont work for ya.

I got the hel ones as above, std s15 front and z32 rears. Worked a1.
got em through apex perf in the uk.

The do all the different combo of brake lines too front and rear.

mattybyrne2008
09-05-13, 22:38
Just stick with what subzero said its only 10 sterling..if you buy the Driftworks ones there going to be a full set for a skyline which I don't know if the front ones will work I doubt they will..

Your some man for hardship for a guy that ain't a mechanic to do all this himself to a car well done man..wish I wasn't a mechanic then maybe I might not be as lazy with my own car

Quick Question are you still using the Standerd s15 Break master cylinder? or did you upgrade?

Ya id say ye are right lads, its just im ordering the Flywheel through WKD from Driftworks and i figured i would get the Lines and a coilover Adjuster Knob all in the one package and Save postage on them. I still cannot understand how that R33 Front break line is so short tho :O. I checked the rears Earlier on what you said man iid be well stuck if i didnt have the Lines from the Rear calipers LOL

Haha ya im lazy as hell Normally, i just love tinkering with this haha. i would have had the clutch smashed out in a few days only foe i knew something was up when the clutch went after such a short while and its never really abused, good thing i spent all the time i did at it, i don't want to see this Exedy clutch out again for at least a few years LOL

Im sure it is... but ill double check for ya tomorrow.

Your master cylinder could be the culprit for your bad brakes. The hel braided lines are tasty out with all the clips for the test etc. There just boring black and not cool dw orange :)

ya the handbreak was hopeless on mine would bearly hold the car on the hill let alone pull a skid  single pot sliding calipers are rubbish anyway, hopefuly the drums are a big improvment :D

Anyway been a busy few days i finally pulled the fingure out this week and hope to have it through the Test next week sell the golf and get back in this :D

i pulled out the rear coilovers and split, tested, cleaned, copper-greased, and Rebuilt them.

defanatly keeping the wings i trimmed the lip off them and put a extra layre of fibreglass behind it hoping that if it makes contact with the wheel they wont shatter lol i still have the steel wings there if needs be :)

i was told its a mongoose exhaust but there are no badges on it, it sits really high tbh it used to catch at the subframe and it wore through but iv a 3mm plate welded on it now so when it catches tbe road it wont damage the exhaust. want to get a twin pipe attachment for it now dont like the big round exit on it now :)

Cheers as deco said its ziptied on and it was a retest anyway so i doubt he was going to ask me to come back again.
But I hear ya man i went mental, when i went in first he said my front break lines where corroded and the rubber perished on them, and i knew because i checked them 2 nights before that they where in great condition but there was no argueing with him i just had to change them. Even tho it passed the break test the first time, i had to pay €28 to get the breaks tested again as i had to change the lines, surly he could have just done a visual!! And iv had a few people look at the lines that came off and noone can see anything wrong with them. They are just a Pack of cunts!!

My s14 failed on a corroded brake line aswell, but was the main ones under the car, was only minimal surface rust, I just sanded it and sprayed it and passed no bother.
The reasoning I was given for another brake test is so that the new lines were fitted and bled properly.

It's a complete money racket IMO, every so often you hear about the newest clampdown they have on something small, just to get a retest out of people .

Cheers man, you back in a s-body yet?

Afraid not...I'm not home from the states until the 9th, I'll pick up something then I'm sure, the chances of it being an s-body are getting lesser by the minute!

Sure paint both sets of bumpers, then you can swap over as the mood takes but still have a perfect paint match.

Got them from wez at WKD highly recommend him as usuall!!

u never updated the new gaf build wdf :P

Must start a thread on that soon lawd :D

I hear what ye are saying lads, he reason i binned the kit was i had that vertex bumper 4 months and i repaired it 4 times as it just kept hitting off the road and breaking because the car was so low and finally some wanker put his foot through it.
I wanted to stay as low but gain some clearance so standerd kit was the way forward.altho personally id rather a spec-s bumper and Dc2 lip or the vertex kit. :D and I begrudge painting the car because the bumpers will get damaged and need painting again and then they wont match so a wrap. If i could get someone to watch me paint and tell me where im going wrong id spray it and spray the bumpers everytime meself no bother. But no one wants to help poor alan :(

ali-d1936
10-06-14, 20:42
yip dude its a vertex lang.
finally plan on pulling my fingure out on this,

its been off the road over a year and i need to sort this out :L

Atm its partially stripped.
Im planning on pulling out the engine, tubbing the arches, then spraying the bay as its messy under there and has a bit of rust on one of the inner arches.

i was looking at a engine swap while it was out but id rather just drive it now tbh so the sr20 will stay.

plan is:
Relocate the Fuse box to under the dashboard.
Tidy up the loom,
Make all new FMIC pipes,
Relocate the Battery to the boot.
Clean up the engine and spray the rocker cover,
add the performance mods i have stacked up.

Hopefully get all done within a month. then get somone to spray it for me and actually Drive it then.

then again ill propably make a good start then lose interest in it and it will sit ther for another year :L

also thinking on going back to the Kit :/

fucking getting plagued with a little miss the last few weeks, its not a full misfire, but idling its rough and every now and again the car jerks a little, i thought it was a boost leak/bad earth/coilpack. so went over the earths and all was ok. so i took off all the pipes and looking into the intercooler the bottom inch was full of water

this is the result of a little tare on a silicone joiner, but on the upside that pritty much guaranteeing that i have a boost leak somewhere
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1386_zps817a5d92.jpg
(dont worry about the oil in the picture i was cleaning the joint in prep to put back on read somewhere a smeer of oil on all the joints helps with a seal)

so i drained it out and put all the pipes back on but still have it but its better than it was, so im stuck till i get the replacement joiner

so with the water drained from the inter cooler i was wondering if any damage was done,
so i bought a compression tester,

and happly it showed 145PSI on all 4 cylinders, :)
of course i got proof  the best of the 4 photos i took >:(

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1413_zps539edeb7.jpg
some might think thats a bit low but reading up online iv seen people with 120psi and still have strong engines, so im happy,

i think its good for a car with 207K
but ill do a wet test soon with a spoon of oil in each cylinder and see if it changes much :)

but one look at the plugs and i knew they had to be changed,

E78 for 4 new denso plugs recommended by nissan

old v new
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1417_zps982b4d9b.jpg

took it out for a quick spin so make sure everything worked ok,

and
Oh
My
God!!

the difference was black and white same kind of pick up low down but as the revs climbed the diffrence the new plugs made was unreal!! :) (not suprised as the old ones looked past there sell by date)

so latley iv been wondering what Mpg i was getting and its working out at 24MPG taking the average over 4 full tanks.
so now ill do 4 full tanks again and see if the new plugs and no boost leaks give me better MPG :)

ah and this is what you car looks like when you use it every day ;)

so little update after it passed the NCT last year it was parked up for a year, last week i charged the battery and it started with the the first turn . It Started 2 more times within 5 minuites and now it wont, its getting fuel. i pulled a spark plug, earthed it off the block to test it, it wouldn't spark the first few times i try'ed, and then suddenly it sparked and the car started, i put the sparkplug back in and it wouldn't start again, i pulled the plugs again to test but now they wont spark at all.

I ran a diagnostic and it returned a 55 code (no fault codes present) i found this strange so i unpluged the CAS Turned the car over and ran diagnostic again and still it flashed a code of 55.... surly with the CAS unpluged the ecu would return a fault code for it?? I checked every fuse and relay to see if any where blown and they are all ok, Help i want to get it on the road for the summer :(

well it has been a while... 3 years of sitting up in a shed not starting due to a electrical fault that i just didnt have the time to source, and getting no love, i finally decided to pull it out of its corner and do some work :D

my phone broke here so iv lost all the stripping of th eengine bay photos so im a bit concerned about putting it back together :)but i should be ok...
anyway Rust!!

i think the car got a tip on the front corner and it was never properly repaired and left to rot, or when the hole for the FMIC was cut out it was left bare metal

now to stone chip over it and to make a start at the rear :)

can anyone just confirm that that is the right sequence for doing underneath the car

wire wheel the shit out of the Rust
rough sand the paint with 240 grit paper
use Krust rust converter Gel,
clean off with white spirits,
use 2 coats of zinc primer on bare metal.
then use a etch primer on after wards
and coat with undereal?

martycturbo
09-08-16, 21:39
Etch primer first,, decent etch primer should mix 1:1 with a re-active thinner which is full of acid,, eats into the metal and prevents rust from reforming,
