okay my first event in car since it was built was a few weeks back. i was up against chris keogh and while waiting to go out he asked what gearbox i was using and i said std for now he laughed and said that wont last so i was telling him ive never broke a box and 2 min later coming out i broke 3rd gear.so much for boasting:o
so in with another to keep me going and damn short shifter up in bischopcourt kept going back to 1st rather than 3rd,the next day messing at home,another box bites the dust,
bought my TRUST 6 speed dog box and brakes that before i get to track so thats getting repaired with new internals.

Tell me bout it, feckin sr boxes! broke mine in mondello yesterday too and it was pissing raaaaaaaaaaain!

But whats odd is, i keep loosing 5th and reverse.. also think its down to the short-shifter??

Ever heard of people loosing 5th and reverse?

yea jay a friend of mine had same prop ..... close ratio box ....kept loosing 5th and reverse and then one day just went all together !!!! :confused:

when i was in france this guy tony bought kabatawa-sans s15,
he used it a good bit but the event i went to his box broke after rolling out of the start :rolleyes:

Isn't there a group buy of RB25 gearbox to SR20det adapter plates on Driftworks at the moment????

i wouldnt blame the box for this one it looks to me like the bolts for the pressure plate broke and it made shit of the bell housing

was just going to say that. looks like your clutch came apart and did the damage there. that box should be fine sure its the bell housing thats fooked and thats seperate init???

to be honoust theres alot of rb boxes been broken still,especially in the uk so i think ill keep away from them,im getting dog box re done with new gears(have to love quaiffe:Dbut not there price:mad:)according to them it should of held 650hp but i beg to differ
i was talking to mazworxs and they said 300zx box and you will not break it garenteed and i have 1 but im gonna stick with dog for now leaveing 300 box as last option

dunno still running low boost .9 to 1 bar given engine a chance run in better

2 much power is never an issue its just expensive :Dso what it gonna be like a 2bar:eek:

are the z32 and rb boxes not basically running the same internals?
The type of clutch and the amount of kicking it gets will help kill any type of box too.

Best of luck with the dogbox tho, hopefully it'l take the abuse its ment to

every body seems to think this but there not the z32 box is stronger agian and mazworx can confirmed this.thanks anway hopefully dog box gonna last this time

Yeah exactly, like a box can be rated to take 600bhp but not necessarily 600bhp with clutch kicking which plays a big part in our game!

5th and reverse is on its own seperate shaft in the box mate ran one like tat for ages till eventually third blew outta it
