I've removed a good few side windows from cars now an to be honest its easier just to get someone out it's only 20 euro a window . If ya wanna do it yourself you ll need a window removal kit there about €60 you'll need to get the wire down through the side bit of the window ( part that meets the door ) get that cut, then you'll need to use the angled blade get in the car and cut out all the sealer from inside it's a pain in the hole takes me bout 30 mins per window.
When Yr putting the glass back in degreaser around the edge panel wipe will do then use tiger seal make sure to put a thick beed all way around so it seals everywhere otherwise you'll have leaky windows
thank you people, is it possible to keep the edging around the windows when removing, hoping to put back polycarbonate windows, with the surround if possible??
It should be Ye I'd get a Stanley and slice the bottom were it meets the 1/4 panel. Just slice between the rubber and the window this will also help you in removing the sealant from the bottom of the window. You can just tiger seal it back on then
it sounds rough out but if you are only takeing out the windows to change to poly then get a big hammer and one good slap then the 2 jobs are done at one time windows out and rubbers not damaged 180 windows are worth feck all

is the amount of weight you save by removing them really worth the hassle??:o
obviously the rear window weighs a ton but i wouldnt think replacing the quarters would save that much weight and the poly stuff doesnt look good imo

ps windows are handy out compared to 180's they are a fucker because of the curve and the sealer is real far in
big fuckn hammer :D
HA HA... Thats exactly what i taught when i seen the thread.. I wouldnt waste my time tryin to get the windows out without breaking them if your only replacing them, even doh you never said they had to be in one piece.. Like Gem said.. Slap of a hammer and clean up the mess.. Takes half the time and farrrrr less brain meltage..
Thanks for all the comments folks, removed the drivers window with hammer:)
i was able to see where all the sealer was, so heated couple of paint scrapers pushed m through, and out came the passenger window. Cousin and myself wanted to save one to see weight difference, bit of difference alri.
Windows are a 5 piece kit made by plastics4performance, with 3 rear windows with black border like originals, so look wise and fitment are excellent
Thank you peeps, back to work:D

lol i was just giving price from site... you prob got some bitta sponsership :D
Any pics of the finished result when you fitted the windows?
Just done it today, defo easiest way is to break it out with a hammer, makes fitting a new window alot easier becuase the seals wont be cut to get it out..the rubber glue stuff is awful tho...somebody mentioned brake cable from a bike...best idea by far or chesse cutting wire if you can get some, it will save alot of hardship!!
