So I have the car about 4-5 months.......after a long hard battle with myself, I decided to keep it and fuck some money at it!!!!!! (and hopefully turn it into a decent drift car). After Portlaoise on Sunday I figured out that I needed more lock, a new map, and proper suspension setup to start off with!

I will be looking at sorting performance & handling first of all and when I have that sorted I will be get to the bodywork and some big dish hopefully :D...I have a couple of ideas in mind for the bodywork, ive taken a shine to one of the veilside kits! I will post pics up of a few......

Spec as it stands;
Apexi Power Fc & Commander
Omoni Water, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure & Boost Gauge
Yellow Stuff Pads all round(new)
Compbrake Hydraulic Handbrake
Bride Seat
Nardi Wheel
Stainless Exhaust(unknown)
Rays wheels(not in the best nik)
Mazdaspeed bumper, skirts & spats & light cover
Adjustable Camber arm knuckles & Toe arms
HKS Hiper D Coilovers
Arc Intercooler hard pipe kit

The plans for it are

Some extra lock hubs courtesy of Justjap!
All new adjustable arms for rear
Camber adjustable top mounts
Get a new map and get as much power as I can out of it.....I need advise of what supporting mods I need to get the best setup possible...fuel pump, injectors etc....??????
Turbo back exhaust
Polybush it....clean up and paint subframes
Maybe cage....unsure of a bolt in or a weld in yet???
Then I want to stick a kit on and respray it....im thinking ninja green :D:D:D:D

Updates will be slow as I only have the evenings during the week to work on this......will be back from Yowdy with extra lock hubs and Hydro in the next week or two hopefully when I can start getting working on it

Thats about it for now, the plans will probably change along the way aswell....please comment and post your ideas and suggestions and opinions...I want to make this one different....... Any heads are better than mine :D

Edit; oh yeah..... I will be needing to call on people for help....and probably a lot of it! This is only my second project build and the first one was a B18 eg so it doesnt really count! Anybody that would like to volunteer feel free!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-)

Heres the pics as she stands now

Got extra lock hubs made up and fitted aswellbut I still need to get new modified lower arms fabricated and put in rack spacers because the calipers are hitting of the lower arm and acting as a bump stop so full lock cant be obtained yet! Will post up the pics when I get that sorted

Next to go on is Walbro pump, de cat, downpipe, going TDP for map end of the month, then suspension setup and start sliding!

Been a while and haven't done much on this due to moneys being low and getting broken into.

Fitted a new throttle body.
Collecting and fitting new downpipe and decat tomorrow from Jap Performance.
Compression tested the other night as there no point in mapping a fooked rotary, it turns out the 13b is in good condition so I booked it in to be mapped on the 19th at TDP.
A few little niggly bits to sort out after that but hopefully should be out for mondello next month with some good power

Looking forward to seeing the results of the mapping and seeing how it goes around Mondello. :)

Yeah I dont really know what power to expect from it or what it should achieve???
But more than anything I want it to run smooth and be reliable

Thanks. Thats a bit in the distant future though, the main thing is learn how to control it properly first.......;-)

A little progress on this. I picked up the downpipe and midpipe the other night and got started fitting them....ran into a couple of problems though!
I'll let the pics talk.....although I still cant figure out how t get them the right size, keep ending up either too big or too small

So this is what came out
http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae106/Daddeekyle/ExhaustFittingrx7pics007.jpg?t=1305137245

These are the new bits. Whoever had the downpipe wrapped it in heat repellant tape for some reason rather than heat wrap when I got it and the threads on the boss for the o2 sensor were shot aswell so I spent a while getting the tape off and cleaning up the pipe and the threads
From this
http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae106/Daddeekyle/ExhaustFittingrx7pics005.jpg?t=1305137245
To this
http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae106/Daddeekyle/ExhaustFittingrx7pics013.jpg?t=1305137245
And this
http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae106/Daddeekyle/ExhaustFittingrx7pics008.jpg?t=1305137245
To this
http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae106/Daddeekyle/ExhaustFittingrx7pics009.jpg?t=1305137245

While I was at it I went searching for any worn/cracked/disconnected piping there might be,
I found 2 of these that were fairly shabby and one was disconnected
http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae106/Daddeekyle/ExhaustFittingrx7pics011.jpg?t=1305137245
So I replaced them with these
http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae106/Daddeekyle/ExhaustFittingrx7pics012.jpg?t=1305137245
When I had it running again after I finished it made the difference, the car stopped hunting and is a little smoother on idle

So after that it came around to fitting the downpipe and I ran into problems. I had to return it in the end and run the stock downpipe as it just wouldnt fit, you can see in the pics the size of the stock d/p compared to the a/m one, and the space between the turbo flange and the column. The diameter of the downpipe is extremely narrow to allow for the steering column to fit, compared to the width from the flange to the outer most point on the a/m pipe.
Even still though the difference is noticable with the decat, the accelator is much more snappy than it was and it comes on boost much quicker, fucking nightmare though after taking it all apart.

http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae106/Daddeekyle/ExhaustFittingrx7pics006.jpg?t=1305137245

Then just gave the brakes/Hydro a good bleed out tonight, going to buy some heavy duty clips for the ic piping tomorrow. Then just a few niggly bits too sort and then should be ready for mapping

you have to resize them before you upload them

i use a program called 'irfanview'
its free and easy
open the pic, click edit<resize< and just make it like 33% of the original

I took off the little gay wing and I think the car looks much better. I didn't think it suited the car at all

http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae106/Daddeekyle/randomrx7picsvid012.jpg?t=1305472926

I also made a little mod to raise the bonnet to improve the air flow for cooling and couldn't resist taking a few pics after a clean! (hasn't been washed in the first 2 pics)

So its pretty much ready for mapping now bar a little slop in the steering which should be sorted before Thurs. Then on sat im hoping to get the suspension set-up properly (if the lads have time that is).....and then mondello Sunday provided I don't run into any complications between now and then!

Spotted this down in arklow, sorry about the shit pic. Have a fetish for e30's and this one looked really clean from the outside

Had no internet for a while. Only got it back working. So I got the car mapped and it made 355bhp and 317lb/ft. I was pretty happy with this when I heard but...........the water pump/engine was whining/knocking a bit, haven't heard it since though its been driving spot on. And on the bright side, the seals are all good!!!
So anyway I think I am going to sell up/swap, or break it....
I'm very dissapointed but logic must prevail, I need €€€......:(:(:(:(

skinnynphats200

No i'm gonna just sell it in 1 piece or would rather a swap for something track ready!! Put so much time and effort into it now so i dont want a project until the winter! I just want to go drifting hassle free. So if anybody wants to swap me something track ready im all ears!!!;)
