not sure if this is in the right section but i was offered a e36 316 fr small enough moneys with the engine bolloxed! gonna take it tomorrow n strip it and just use it for the track

what engines with bigger power will fit straight in ie 325 328??
will the gear box in the 316 be up to the job or will i need a complete package? id love m3 powers but dont wanna be spending too much.

so if anyone has everything i need for a conversion give me a shout with a price!!

Whats small enough monies?! A 316 with a fucked engine is worth ZERO monies!!

You'd be much better off pickin up a cheap 325 or 28 rather that prickin around changin engines etc...You'll need to change gearbox as well.. Also unless your really lucky you wont get a conversion that cheap.

dont buy a 328 engine if they overheat the threads can pull on the block if ya try do the headgasket. for a bmw engine buy an 325/525 m50 non vanos its kinda the best of a bad bunch i put a vanos m50 in my e30 bmw before was some yoke to go till it died

threads pulled is more of a problem in the nikasil engine rather than the allusil engine .

ya but you have to make sure ya get the right one so if ya cant tell the difference your better off stayin away from them that said get yourself a nice m52b28 (328 engine) find an inlet manifold and a couple more bits and pieces from the inlet side of an m50 engine (525,325) stick them on your 328 engine and you can get a substancial amount of extra bhp and no need to tune it after as the ecu will learn itself. the standard 328 manifold is quite restrictive

just need somethin with enough power for the odd track day n some "late night shopping"

ive driven 325s and its lookin like the best bet but if i cant get the bits handy ill just leave it!
someone surely has a crashed/rusty 325 around?

Pm mark on here. He sold a 325i recently to a BMW breaker. He'll have a number for him I'd say. Engine and box were 100%.
Shell was a little rough lol:p
