Can anyone tell me roughly what this is worth, crank will work in turbo 2JZ and the sump will work for anyone doing a s-body conversion.

Loads of 2j's with cranks gone ted, that's why I thought it mite be worth a few quid but if it's worth nothin il scrap the yoke!!

Are 2jz not better than 1jz?

Better in what way?

When comparing like with like:

Reliability is about the same.

Power output is about the same in stock form.

The 2JZ has better aftermarket support.

The 1JZ is lighter.

The 1JZ is a true twin turbo with far smoother power delivery, the 2JZ is a sequential set-up.

The 1JZ has a shorter stroke and freely can spin to over 7500rpm, the 2JZ redline is 6700rpm.

The 1JZ was designed to directly compete with the Nissan RB engine family.

The 1JZ engine is about a third of the price of a 2JZ. (the clincher!:D)

Stonie, as was said a good NA 2JZ is worth €300 to €400.

There are turbo kits available for the NA that'll push the power up to a reliable 400-450 bhp.

This just appeared on the MKIV Supra site, I came on to tell you about it but git got here ahead of me.

I have a NA block here that I'm in three minds what to do with, keep it and have maybe one or two spare parts handy for the 1JZ TT should it need them or sell it for peanuts and hope for the best or break it and hopefully get a few notes for parts that can be used in the 2JZ TT.

If you wanted to enquire about the cost of shipping two blocks together to this guy to see if its worth doing then go for it. Chances are I'll never need the parts that are interchangeable. But I can't swear that I'll go for the deal. We'd probably be lucky to break even with the cost of shipping two engines!
