test boost controller?

I've a hks evc 3 boost controller in my 180sx, I never used it since i got the car as it's not connected.
has the proper solenoid too.
The car is currently running a manual boost controller at .5 bar ?? I can't adjust it either
the manual boost control is like a T with 3 boost pipes and one side open is this normal???

Is there anyone who can test it to see if it's working properly;)
Do hks boost controllers generally give trouble
It gets power and lights up???

We can bench test all boost controllers. The older HKS ones do give up with age and not having the filters fitted properly.
