Got these today, and want to know what is the best way to make the holes in the Carbon bonnet to fit them, any particular way or methods of doing it. Is carbon hard to cut or drill, does it flake, crack etc...

Any help appreciated

I'd wear goggles and a dust mask anyway to be safe
The stuff can be dangerous if you breathe it or it gets in your eyes

I've an old carbon bonnet was goin to make up a center console from it
don't know what it's like to cut

thread on DW about it ... youll need a drimmel type cutter.... tape the bonnet very well to save the lacquer cracking.

i fitted them to mk1190s glanza years ago taped up the shape to be cut drillred a hole then as above used a dremmel to bore it out! usually get different grades of abrasive with them so dont go too rough! put masking tape over and drill through it for the small hols for screwin them down!
be very careful cause once its cut its cut so line everything up before you even attempt drilling!

Scamper you should get someone that knows what there at in fairness you havnt hands to butter bread, and if you go to big cutting out the shape you can't patch it up

ive fitted lots of these to carbon bonnets for mk2 escort rally cars, cut out the templates that they sat in from packing, measure each side and make sure you arent gona have half the pin going across a double skin bit of the bonnet drill holes in 4 or 5 places in template and die grind out the rest, the faster it goes the better ie you wont chip the clear coat of the carbon. hope this helps

make sure you allow for the depth of the aerocatch and the height of the pin
i fitted these before plenty of times and your limited to where ya can put them unless you wanna weld it aditional plates to hold the pins
